Randy Scott Slavin
Randy Scott Slavin is a surreal photographer that is based in New York. He makes pictures of natural landscapes and makes them look surreal and round like the picture he has taken is a mini world that looks surreal or the pictures he takes has a big hole in the middle and the land is a little round circle.
|
This is one of Randy Scott Slavin's photo that he has edited and made it look surreal and make the land round and shows the sky though the middle of the land and the water is surrounding it. This photo makes you wonder what the original picture looked like before he edited it. Each one has a different circle so they all look different and all look surreal and they have all been edited. This photo is my favourite out of the three because of how the sky is in the middle and how the water is on the outside of the ring. Also how the colours are bight and how its not dark.
|
This photo is edited by me and is my how my photo came out when i tried to edit like Randy Scott Slavin i think it came out alright but the middle of the photo looks wired because of how when i edited the photo there would be a big line in the middle because of the way i edited it and how i am still getting use to the clone tool and how it works.

Lasqueti-Ronnie
Lasqueti-Ronnie mostly does landscape pictures of the sea side and are pictures of the water and the land. They also do pictures of mini world and are similar to Randy Scott Slavin where the pictures look like and there mini worlds are of the sea side and full circles and different to Randy Scott Slavin where his have holes in the middle and have a thin lining where Lasqueti-Ronnie has full circles and in the middle have a few trees and no buildings.
|
This photo is similar to the other photos but doesn't show more under the water and sky isn't blue like others but this photo has more clouds instead of the blue sky and the water doesn't have a glow shinning of it but you can see the rocks and how deep the water is the mood of this photo is similar to the others but all of the photos are different and have a different mood.
This photo is one of my favourite because of the rocks in the middle of the photo and the sky isn't completely blue it has some clouds in it but the rocks and the water is what makes it different to the rest because either you could be able to see how deep the water is but in this you can not tell so the water looks like it is from the sea and the rocks in the middle look like the top of a mountain that has just popped out the middle of the water
|
This is how my edited photo came out when i tried to make my photo similar to Lasqueti-Ronnie and it didn't come out as good because of the building in the middle half of it got cut off so i had to make half of it to try and make it work also my sky isn't as blue as Lasqueti-Ronnie and i haven got and leaves on my trees my trees are just sticks and i haven't got anything sticking out of the water.

Brainstorm
I did a drawing of how i think what the mini world should look like with tall and short buildings and some big trees so its a mixture of nature and some buildings. because of the photographers that i have researched they all have water in the middle as the circle and around it they have different sizes of buildings and the sky in all of them are bright and don't have many clouds in them.
AO2 - Creative Making: "Experiment with and select appropriate resources, media materials, techniques and processes reviewing and refining ideas as work develops"
Experiment
This is one of my first edited photos and a lot of things when wrong with this because of how i used the clone tool the middle of the picture is too small and has the same pattern and the top of the tree is cut off also the sky is round and doesn't fill the rest of the picture like the other edited photos i have done.
This edited photo is better than the first edited one because of the middle the grass is rounder and is not a oval also the trees's are not cut off and the sky fills the whole frame and not like the first one where there is white around it. This edited photo i like the most because of how there is a big pond of water in the middle and its a bit like Lasqueti-Ronnie how they have a big pound of water in the middle also there is a blue sky and is a little bit grey and not like the others where it is mostly grey. |
My experiments with trying to make my work look like Randy Scott Slavin's work was a bit successful the more i practised with photoshop and the results were getting better. But there are multiple ways to edit and different ways to get all the photos merged together and different ways give different results to how the photo looks when it has been edited.
Photoshop Tutorial
I went into File, Automate, Photomerge then i will get a screen telling me to select files to put into the Photomerge.
Then i will get the images merged into one to make it a panorma image but it would have edges that would be curved and not straight so i used the Rectangle Marquee Tool that i would use to select what i wanted in the image and i would get rid of the curved edges and i would crop them out.
Then i would go to Layer, Flatten Image. So when i got to rotate the image i could otherwise the image wouldn't be able to rotate and move so i can carry on with the rest of the process. Then i would go to image rotation and rotate it 180 degrees so the image is upside down.
Then i change the Canvas Size i changed the Height to 150 so the image would be taller and so i can change the scale of the image to it is a circle. Then i would use the Clone Stamp Tool so it would get rid of the big line down the middle of the image and make the image not look nice and so i used the tool so i can copy one part and replace the part of the image that would have the line down the middle of the image.
The final image should look like this so the line is gone and the image looks like its a big world with trees and water in the middle of the image. But with using the clone stamp tool i was able to get rid of the line down the middle of the image so some bits look similar. What when wrong with this is that the middle of it is oval and is not circle like the photographers also the trees are cut off and are not clear.

Photoshoot 1 :Osterley Park
In this photoshoot i was testing out different ways to take the picture so it can be edited and i took them portrait and landscape. When i took them portrait there were more to take into photoshop and edit and when i took them landscape there were less to take into photoshop and edit because of the time i went to the park when i took.
These three images are the strong ones because when i went to edit them these three came out the because becasue the pathway connect and there is a pond in the middle of the photo when i edited them. Aslo in the picture the lighting in these photos is not to dark and not over exposed and there is enough ground and enough sky in the pictures so when i edit them it doesnt look like there is too much water and so the trees do look like they have been cut off.
Photoshoot 2: Heston Park
This photoshoot had no colour and not leaves on the trees so the phootshoot didnt look nice and the there wasnt anything special about this park becasue of how flat the grass is and there wasnt a lot of trees there also the buildings in the back were all the same size so none of them stuck out when i was editing them and because there was a lot of grass in the circle it made it harder to edit because I'm still getting use to the clone tool i the grass all looked the same so when using the clone tool it made it harder to move around and make some bits of the photo look different.
This is one of the edited photos from photoshoot 2 and this edited one came out good because all the photos merged together. When editing these photos i was able to edit it together easily because of how flat the grass was and how similar the buildings were so getting rid of the line down the middle was easy to edit over.

Photoshoot 3: Windsor Castle
This photoshoot came out really good because of the day i went because there was not a single cloud in the sky so when it came to editing it helped because i didn't need to see if the clouds were in the right place and so when they were edited the sky was nice a bright blue sky but these photos would be a lot better if the trees had leafs on them because it would make the trees better and make the photos have more colour to them instead of there just being sticks and no colour.
This is one of the strongest photo from that photoshoot because of the statue is in front of a clean blue sky with nothing in the way of it and there is grass at the bottom of the photo so when i edit it there is a green circle in the middle and a big statue above it and just around it is some buildings in the distance.
|
Photoshoot 4: Windsor Bridge
I think that this photoshoot came out a lot better because of the buildings were different sizes and the sky was fully blue without a cloud in the sky also the water was reflecting the buildings and the sky so the water looked very blue with different colours of the buildings there was enough space between the sky and the water which made editing a lot easier because the water in the middle became the circle in the middle with different colours reflecting the sky and the buildings because of the buildings being right next to the water made it look cleaner because there wants any cars in the way.
These two pictures are the strongest out of the photoshoot because when i edit these two together the water at the bottom becomes the circle in the middle and because out the buildings looking similar to each other it was easy to use the clone stamp tool and match up the buildings if they were to lose anything when editing them. Also the sky is clear so editing the clouds and the sky wasn't as hard because of how blue it was.
Photoshoot 5: Hyde Park
This photoshoot came out good because the day i went it was bright and had a blue sky but the only problem is that when it came to editing it was hard because of some trees were in weird places and the land wasn't completely flat when i edited the photos it wouldnt come out in a circle and would come out uneven and the other problem is that there werent any tall buildings in the background so when editing it the circle was plane and didnt have any different shapes in the back.
These three photos are the strongest ones because of how there is a lake that is clear and reflecting the sky, trees and buildings so when it came to editing these images it came out good but because of the way the land goes down the circle wasn't round and didn't match and the tress came out all looking the same size and nothing was showing much in the background but the sky was easy to edit because of how blue it was.
Photosoot 6: London
This photosoot started out good because of the sky was bright and as i went towards the bridge so i could get the full picture the sky turned grey and it stated raining and there was also smog in the air so the pictures has a lot grey in the middle of the picture so when editing it the sky and the circle in the middle was also grey and the pictures didn't have much colour to them. What could of made it better is that if the sky didn't have as much clouds in them because editing the photos from this photoshoot was hard because of there was two different colour clouds so when getting rid of the big line in the middle the sky was the hardest bit to edit.
This photo is one of the strongest photos from the shoot because of the London Eye and Big Ben are in the same picture and when i edit the photo the London Eye is showing more and you can see Big Ben in the background still visible because of how big it is. The only problem with this photo is that there was smog in the middle so when editing the photo it was hard to get colour showing in the middle of it because of the smog also it was harder to edit the sky because of how many clouds there were and how on the left there is a darker shade of the clouds.
